Looks like a great build.  I would suggest kicking up the ram another 1Gig however.

AVG offers a decent set of options for that software.http://grisfoft.com  or just google FREE AVG/  I would stay away from the norton suite as the overhead is awful. At the very least you can run the AVG antivirus (free version is fine for home)

Windows defender is also pretty nice (Used to be Giants program)

For home setups I always suggest that you get a router. This provides something of a poor mans hardware firewall. Hackers cant hack what they cant see. This puts your computer behind something of a safety wall.

Windows firewall is just fine by itself. Do not try and run 2 or more firewall programs as they play poorly together.

+1 on the AVG! just for spam and crap Lavasoft works great!

AVG works well. If not check with your ISP they might offer you free network protection. I know Comcast has a free McAffee suite (firewall+antivirus).

You can always upgrade to another gig of ram later on, for now I think you should be set.

Great build btw, I'm sure you won't be disappointed by the performances (and for a while to come).

Also in addition to the spyware apps mentioned, I would look at Spybot Search & Destroy. Very nifty little utility that will clean up and immunize your system (pretty much like others do).

When it comes to spyware protection you can run as many as you want. Antivirus on the other hand you should only have one!

In about 2 hours, I am calling up the folks putting this together for me. They told me to call then and they could get someone to add the extra RAM. I am just gonna go with 2 more GB's. Thanks again everyone for all the help, input, and laughs. I tried to get the flux capacitor but they were on back order until after the 1st of the year, and I don't want to wait
