picked up my second busa the other day and was slightly concerned no paperwork was with bike regarding camchain tensioner recall. i asked the seller and he said that  he had not had it done and was unaware it needed doing. the bike has only done 3000 miles from new and its a 2000 model.
i rang one of my local suzuki dealers and they did not want to know and that it was my problem to take up with suzuki. so i rang another suzuki dealer and i was amazed!! they asked me for chassis number and then updated all files by putting me on as the new owner and then said it hadnt had the mod done and it needed doing. they have now booked it in and all cost are down to suzuki even though the bike is out of warranty period.FANTASTIC! now the down side, they have strongly recommended that i do not ride my bike until it is done   and i cant get bike in until 16th october. it will nearly be winter then!! very sad, new bike shining in the sun and me with a tear in my eye.

I glad to see that Suzuki is taking care of you. If you do ride just take it easy and keep the speeds down. When I bought mine I couldn't even take delivery of it until the recall was done.

have been talking to highly thought of engine tuners today about the cam chain tensioner recall. they have said put the after market manual adjuster on instead as it is a more positive way of adjustment and in theory cant let you down. they also said that the hydraulic replacement which is fitted on the recall can be suspect. after all its hydraulic and you dont know if its working or not. these manual adjusters are £45 and you can fit in a few minutes. i was also talking to the lads racing busa's at santa pod drag strip today and nearly all of them had thrown the hydraulic adjusters and opted for the manual alternative. i would appreciate other peoples views on this so that i can get mine done otherwise its wait for the recall work to be done in october, and that even sounds cold!!!

they say that because they want to get 45 english pounds out of you ( sorry we only have a $ above the 4 on this side of the pond) besides YOU could not fix your other Busa so when this needs adjusting and it will. Are you going to sell it as well?

bit sarcastic!! and you dont even know me!! other bike is running well moved airbox sensor to ramair tube and fuel filters cured missing prob. they guy bought bike knowing probs and he got at a bargain. i bought new bike as paint job is a one off and i was offered it at the right money, and i knew most of the history. it was one of those do i, dont i situations that comes up now and again. this bike will not be leaving my ownership for a good while.

Chin up DAE, no one is running you off. It is an Americanism to poke fun at friends. Don't take it personally. We are thick skinned here and expect a little criticism.

if you go to uk site, go on PUB CHAT, then go to 200MPH GET TOGETHER AT SANTA POD AND PICCIES, the fifth picture down BALD GITS BIKE, three tone blue with orange wheels, well that is the bike i sold and i think you will agree its a nice bike. and it was running well on sunday.

I see you don't know me very well .
Check out Eggs bike it has this little yellow sticker on it

no i dont know you very well if at all!!, see eggs bike sunday though its next to tony's bike. and i didnt post that i fixed it becouse i didnt, tony did it himself, well i think. bloody good bike and i wish i hadnt sold once it had gone, nearly made the mistake of buying a TL and luckily the shop would'nt give me discount for cash so i have now got my second busa. i now realise how much i did like the first busa it just scared me silly after the blade. i had to make up some sort of excuse so that the missus wouldn't be too violent!!

i suppose the busa is a bike that shocks you how fast it is for the first few months of ownership. the blade was a bit mundane almost dull, compared to the busa.

thanks agian u saved my arss from eating pavement.:O

glad it helped you out, you really dont want to ride it though until its done. mine hasnt moved since i bought it and i am taking to dealer in a van. i am taking the advice i have recieved from this site and the uk site, also i was told by dealer that i really shouldnt ride. having said that some people have said it would be ok, but i just dont want to think about what could if the engine locks up at any speed. i would rather wait.
