Cam decision

Best bang for the buck camshaft wise... .385's or stock intake in exhaust slot. Not trying to be arrogant here, but I would like real world experiences please.

best bang for the buck Yoshi's (comes with bearings and sprockets and you keep your stock cams)

then the 385 only because you have to send in your cams and you have to buy bearings and sprockets so they are more $$ for a couple more ponies

The cam is the heart of your engine. It would have to be taylored to your engine configuration, gearing, intake/exhaust, NOS if you plan to run it and your purpose of the bike... Even to your body weight if your a big or little guy. Look at the RPM range of the cam and match it to where the engine will spend most of its time. The wrong cam can kill your performance and watch your valve lift. To much lift without checking your clearances will damage/destroy your engine. With cams a little less is more. Cheesedude.... Ive read in here where guys with the cams feel the bike has lost a fair bit of low end but gained well in the higher rpms. Is this typical of the mod cam performance? thanx sj

Set them up for whatever riding that you do and you'll be happy.
Low numbers=low/mid range gain.
High numbers=topend gain

IMHO if it ain't broke don't fool with it. Unless you are going to make it a drag bike don't fool with the engine. Suzuki did alot of research when they made the Busa, it spent 3 yrs in the wind tunnel alone...

What are you really looking to get out of your Busa? If you want alot of friggin HP your are going to have to do alot more then just the cams...
