Time for my 1st valve adjustment and while the mechs are in there, thought about putting in a set of cams. I need a recomendation on how much "cam". I need the bike to be reliable and idle. I don't want mileage to be hurt too terribly bad, as I sport tour this bike as well as run it at the strip. Is there a good cam out there where I can feel the performance gain and still keep reliablitly??

Dont know for sure but there seems to be a lot of folks that put a intake cam on the exhaust side for a few extra HP. --see me--

I have been thinking about cams myself. Just got off the phone with a tuner and he recommended the Yoshimura cams, which is a set. About $750. a intake on the exhaust only is about $185. Schnitz says you will gain approx. 8 HP with the Yosh.
The tuner I was talking to said you won’t necessarily fell the cam below 6 grand but you will definitely feel it above 7 grand and gain about 6mph on the top end.

Interesting on the cam swap. We have done the the exact same thing on our Suzuki 400 dirt bikes. Swapping the exhaust with an intake definetely helps the higher end powerband on the 400.
