When the wife and I go , we go loaded down and there's just no room for a tank mount camcorder " tankbag in the way " and we need a remote set-up .

Can anyone here give some input based on your experiences with remote camcorder devices ? Brands , mounting , function , pricing ?

Ping Pashnit... He has a remote on his looking backwards...

Not sure, you can look on his website, I think he lists all ther equipment he uses there

Mountain- I've used this setup which is the sportbikecam.com mount w/ a remote microphone (Radio Shack tie mike) hardwired through the bike to placment above the exhaust, plus a wide angle lens screwed on the camera.

I use the 'long bar' and the 'extender' to lift up the video camera to clear the gauges, plus a clear Double Bubble screen from Zero Gravity. Note that I'm also still able to use my magnetic Tour Master tankbag. Good setup.

Here's a vid with the mount. Buckle your seatbelt before ya watch it.

The other setup I have is the Chase Cam- which is basically a bullet cam- provide your own vid camera & make sure you have the right hook ups to plug in the camera. This we've had excellent success with.

In conjunction with the sportbikecam.com mount, although normally the vid camera is simply placed in the tank bag.

Here's that video- as you can see from the first one, wee bit of difference.

My videographer has successively mounted this thing everywhere on the bike, helmet, mirror, and even a broom stick duct taped to the bike.

The 4 min video we shot for my tour company we used the Chase Cam exclusively and it worked very well.

Btw, we also made a 12 minute version that I loop continuously at shows. The middle part is footage shot with a Helmetcam.com setup on the V-Rod where the bullet cam is hard mounted to the side of the helmet, and the rider has a button on his thumb to turn it on and off.

Here's the 12 minute version- vid came out great if this is the direction you want to go:
