There's a common mod done with cams and high compression pistons that nets over 200 ponies to the wheel. Do the search. Now the motor builders also have the Gen II crank to throw at it I guess.

just cams...roughly 10....yosh cams degreed properly.


Any other hp is achieved via headwork, compression, displacement etc.

also depends on how your stockers are degreed and operating on gain your specific bike gets.

I have heard guys claim 170 with just a pipe.

My friend put a set of yoshi cams in his 02 1000 with a thinner headgasket and was disappointed. Said it wasn't near what he was expecting ???
I need to add he already had a full exhaust/yoshi ems with igntion advanced/geared down/filter/tre and maybe a couple other things I've missed. Plus he lives at 4500ft up. He might have just been expecting too much

if he didn't degree them properly then he wasted his time.

but still the gixxer doesn't gain like the busa does.

Good point 4life.....I don't know if he degreed them or not, but I'm suspecting not. What does degreeing do for cams? Might be good info to know for down the road

I am also stuck between the Yoshi cams and pistons VS Brocks cams and pistons kit, anyone had any experience with either of them?? and how reliable is this sort of modification for the bike?

I have yosh cams in my bike and it made a big difference. It only netted about 8 more horsepower but it pulled like a raped ape.

never dealt with brock's motor parts//but he makes/designed a darn nice exhaust.
