cams

JC,

Nice! How much do they normally cost? And, how much will it cost to have it installed? Should we be looking for a particular mechanic, or can our local cycle shop do it just fine? Finally, will the PCIIIr need to be remapped?

Whew... Sorry.

Anything else I overlooked?

Thanks,
Rip

hey folks, i am sorry that i didnt include this. i know that i will need an exhaust system. is there any other mods that i will need to follow up with? and also is it worth the time to install these cams, or is there another company worth looking into? i wanna go faster without looseing the driveabilitty, and reliabillity. thanks.

If you do a full exhaust swap, do the PAIR mod. If you don't do it, you will most probably backfire (which is a bad thing) everytime you decelerate with the engine. You can find more info about this mod by searching the forum.

Also, if you do the swap yourself, and are not planning to remove the radiator, I would protect it with some cardboard first. I wish I had...

Have them set at about 105/107 - 104/106, and you will enjoy a nice grunt difference in the midrange.
AND,
What Cache said!

Bushido, I had a pair dropped in and got 12 rwhp. Did several dyno runs and it was consistant, then installed my TRE and did several more runs and it showed 3 more rwhp. I know there is a lot of talk about the TRE's capabilities and what it can and can't do, I am by no means an expert but the dyno charts don't lie. Maybe some of the true experts we have can explain a little better. Good luck, plus don't forget about the possibility of swapping the exhaust cam with an intake cam, however there is a tradeoff with power and torque that many don't care for.

3 more with a TRE got an A/F graph???and the dyno sheet??

JC, I must admit I was a little shocked myself with the hp gain. I'll get my tuner to reprint the dyno runs with the A/F graph and post it.
