I had yosh slips on my '01, and the mounting flange was lightly beveled to "tuck" the cans in tighter to the bike, and looked really nice. The Microns I put on the '03 have straight flanges, and sit out from the bike enough that you need to use the supplied spacer to fit the hanger to the stock mount.

Can this be changed? Anyone know of a way to get the Microns to tuck in a little tighter?
Here's how they sit now....

I have the full Micron and it fits just like stock, no spacers, so I'm not much help to ya........ But, that Mac tool roll-away? Now I think that would look really sweet in my garage. If you'd just pack it up, tools and all, I'll PM you my mailing adress later.

Yeah Screw the Busa man, Lets see the Garage.... Looks good... I'm Jealous...

OK I kinda know what your talking about, You should be able to find some different hangers I should think. I am assuming you tried rotating your midpipes a little just wiggling ya know? I found that I could get a little movement out of the midpipes and this would effect the Cans general positioning a little bit...

Tha cans look good man, no worries...

Maybe just try to find a hanger that is offset...  Having the bolt hole centered over the can is sorta different. They are centered right??? IF not can you flip them around...

You know like this? Bolt hole mounted inboard of exhaust can centerline?

Damn tbone, someone on this site is making a set of flanges that is supposed to make all/any aftermarket exhaust sit inward like the Yoshi's. If you do a search, someone was on the board offering these for sale about two weeks ago. I remember it because I made a comment that said something smart-a$$ and to the effect that they should just buy Yoshimura bolt-ons instead of all the trouble. Man I hate when someone is asking for something and somewhere in my clouded mind I know something that can help and I draw a complete blank.

I'll try doing a search along with ya to find out who it was offering these flanges. It was a nice little kit he had set up. I too have the full Micron exhaust and kinda wish the pipe mounted more at an inward angle like the Yosh bolt-ons.

I'll keep up with this thread because I would like to know since I have a set of Microns to put on my bike.

Naw...it's not the hangers the pipes just come straight back off the mid pipes, and there's not enough "wiggle" room to pull them in any tighter, even without the hangers attached. Definately need some type of beveled flange to pull the cans in tighter to the tail....thanks for the head's up, Brian....I'm looking around the site now...

Here's the post, but as you can see he was a 'Guest' and left no contact information. <a href="https://www.hayabusa.org/cgi-bin/busa/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=16337;hl=exhaust+hangar+brackets">Exhaust Angle<a>

that's exactly what i need......just my luck the guy's a phantom from the wrong side of the pond!

Are they reversed by chance T-Bone? Revlis has a point...look at his pic then yours...either your hangers are off on the cans or maybe you got the left can on right side and vice-versa?...just trying to help...haven't personally mounted dual cans on a bike before let alone a busa...

I do know that with full systems you have to wiggle every section and take your time to get a good fit....I'm a perfectionist so I don't quit till I like the way it looks...kinda like you

good luck...

Thats just the way they are. Ive commented on the look b-fore outward angle, spacers, etc..Micron dropped the ball on the way they mount. look at all the twin Microns they are the same...Bummer.. the angle spacer would be the trick fix.. I do like the Micron pipe jus' not the way they look when mouted.. Good luck and keep us posted.

Spoke to Micron NA today....the slip ons are designed to be "direct replacements" for the stock cans, and Micron says don't try to use the offset band clamp/hanger, as it will place stress on parts of the exhaust not intended to be stressed. They don't know of any beveled plates available in the aftermarket. However, the full system they offer IS designed to tuck the can in tighter to the tail, giving me the look I'm after. Sooooo.....these cans are for sale, I'm going full system. I'll post in classified......

Honey.....I'm dropping another 1100 bucks on the busa......what would you like from the Jewelery store?
