Can You See the Gauges?

When I test-sit the Hayabusa (over at Bert's Mega Mall in Covina, CA), I constantly notice how I couldn't see the gauges unless my chin was on the tank. Does anyone else have that problem? Is there a suitable aftermarket windscreen that corrects this major (yes, it's a big deal for a daily rider) problem?

Thumbs up, by the way, to Suzuki's sticking to analogue gauges. I know digital saves weight and space, but does anyone like a digital tachometer or speedometer? My VFR's digi-fuel gauge is even an irritant!

I'm not a Hayabusa rider...yet...but I enjoy Hayabusa.org's message boards and get a lot of information about the machines and the general rider of the greatest Suzuki. My '98 Honda VFR 800 has served me well for many years now, but I will eventually "upgrade" (if such a thing exists) to the larger displacement motorcycle.

I have no trouble reading all 5 of my gauges with a Zero gravity DB.

Yep, Yep the Zero Gravity DB is the way to go... unless your going to be wide open all the time then your chin will always be on the tank!!!

Fabrri works well too!

You will love the busa, and the DB windscreen is the best $65 I ever spent on mods.

The infamous DB will also eliminate that turbulance wall that you hit at about a buck fiddy-five (indicated).

Well worth the cash.
When you get ready to sell the Viffer, lemme know, I know someone that might be intrested then..

I can only add more weight to the argument put forward. Zero Gravity double bubble is the way to go...I'm 6'3" and now I can see the gauges no problem when I am in a fully upright position. Reduces wind blast on your body too...best money I ever spent on the Busa. I was worried that it would spoil the sleek look of the Busa, but it doesn't > I actually think it looks better.

I can see the gauges just fine, but I'm one of the shorter riders on this board...seems that most guys have to buy the double-bubble shield to give more visibility to the gauges...everyone that has the double-bubble seems to love it...

Hope you get a Busa soon!

Go with the double bubble. It makes a huge difference in being able to see the guages. I can't wait to get another one.

I'm 6'1", and find that the Zero Gravity Double Bubble wind screen works fine. I can read all of the gauges without having to duck down against the gas tank.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for all your input. It certainly seems like the Double Bubble is the way to go. I'm 6'5", so I'm glad to read that the other tall guys on 'Busas recommend them. Does the DB spoil the 'Busa's looks? Why would I care? I'd be riding a 'Busa! I had a National Cycle shield on my VFR for years (it only came in smoke, which was terrible), and I got called "Darth Vader" for its signature flipped lip, but I couldn't care less.

Darn nice of all of you to help a brother out.

Yup Double bubble is the way to go. Also, don't "Upgrade" to a Hayabusa just add a busa to the collection then watch as mysteriously all your other bikes keep gathering dust. I dig the VFRs allways have, eventually I will have one. Gotta love the V-4 sound. But seriously the Busa will completely re-align your perceptions of what a fast bike is it really is that much of a difference. Which I suppose why there are so many Busa riders out there that are just obsessed.

Go with the Dark Smoke DB, it looks a bit better being darker in my opinion. And it does not spoil the look at all.

Hey VFRGuy, I'm 6'5" also and I have owned both the ZG double bubble and the Power Bronze. When I had my accident last year, I destroyed the ZG. Now that my bike is back on the road, I am running the PB that I had in the closet that I purchased for $50 about a year and a half ago. Trust me when I say that you can't go wrong with either one. Cheapest price I've seen for the ZG is at .
