car radio freaks

bought a car, radio screw holes are busted. suspension is VERY TIGHT and bumpy. I started thinking, perhaps I should SOFT MOUNT the radio anyway so teh CD don't skip every 8th mile on the road. maybewrap the front in foam or rubber feeties and secury the back... that way it could sort of have shock resistance against bumps? AND I wouldnt have to buy the broken section for $100.

would this work and be a good idea or would soft mount make it skip more?

I'll post pics of the car after it's detailed Tuesday

it should be ok but what kinda car are you mounting it in? The radio cage should give the radio enough support not to skip. The cage fits snug in the dash with just the fold up tabs on it. But if you need it. you can get whats called back strapping from just about any stereo place or even best buy from the installers for either free or just a couple of bucks.

I suggest you get a seperate CD changer with a buffering option!!! Those usually buffer the tracks before they play em... there by you dont feel the "skips"
