Carbon fiber fairing

Does anybody know how many pounds are saved by going to a Carbon fiber fairing for the Busa? I have heard different figures - up to 20 lbs. Can it really be that much?

What brands do you recommend? Where can I find A-tech on the web? Do any carbon fairings come painted with the Busa colors or do I have to do that myself?

Maximum weight savings using Carbon fairings,Dymag wheels,Light weight rotors, light weight calipers and after market exhaust is around 80 lbs.The Stock exhaust weighs about 50 lbs.

Nick, where'd you get that figure for the stock exhaust? 50lbs?

Jeff what did you do to support the battery and computer, your bike looks nice are you painting her "COPPER IS FASTER" Copper?

How about some inner cowl pictures?

Any interferance with the ram air tubes and the cowling fastener?

Fuse box bracket, cut the OEM plastic piece or a new fabed part?

Sorry guys,32lbs is about right. My scale is screwed up,it doesnt show lbs.Took the exhaust to work and weighed it on a professional scale.4 lbs for the Pair system.

I have a stock exhaust off of FRQ FLYR's busa here at my house.I weighed it but my scale could be a couple of LBS off so I owuld say the stock exhaust weighs from 47 to 50 lbs.

Gixxer that is an incredible figure. I hope it is true. I don't have the exhaust off my bike so I can't weigh it on the bathroom scale, so I have a couple of questions for you. If your scale is uncertified, could you put something that you know weighs 50 lbs (a couple of plates off your weight set - all Hayabusa owners pump iron don't they?) on it, to confirm it is reading fairly accurate. Or could you weigh the pipe on a certified scale. 47 lbs vs. 31 lbs big difference! Very curious to know.

I got 32lbs when I weighed mine. If its true, we'll all be some happy campers.

Kawa, have not yet decided on if I will paint it much less what color if I do. May
go with graphics and just clear coat.

I'll see if I can find the time to take some pics and send to you. Been busy......just got back from DynoJet in Vegas doing a PC2 class (Olathe is now a certified PC2 tuning center) :)
