Ok, so I saw that a fiew people have invested in the Q2 and wrote a couple reviews. In the spirit of not threadjacking, I figured I would write up my own.
I picked up the system from Josh at Ryders Connection last Friday (2/8/08) and brought it home. I then plugged it in and let it charge. While it was charging I sat and stared at the helmet trying to figure out how to route the wires so that they were out of the way, did not do any damage to the hemet, and was a permanent fitting.
So about 2 minutes later the system was installed. Oh yes, glorious.
Saturday I took the bike out for a spin after pairing the Q2 with my Blackberry. I got out on the road and called my wife by voice dial. Simple press of the button and some talking, and BAM.... connected. Loving it.
My wife then asks me what I am doing, (she was at the store) and I respond with "you can't tell." She about fell over when I told her I was on the bike over 5,000 rpm cruising at over 65mph. She proceeded to tell me that the voice quality was so good that she thought I was at home sitting in the recliner. When I usually call her I am in my truck talking on the small bluetooth adapter and she hates it because of all the backround noise that comes with owning a blackberry. I have since had two other individuals make the same set of comments while riding the bike. The other fantastic feature is that if the phone rings, you do not have to touch anything. All you need to do is say something loud and it will answer the call for you.
The FM presets are a little interesting (makes me miss the digital tuning idea) but the sound quality is superb both inside the helmet (voice or radio or mp3) and to anyone else that you may be talking to.
This little device is the best "mod" I have ever done to anything. Might I dare say that it is better than I had expected.
Thanks Josh..... great product.
