Viper the car has a Branded title. A disclosure was made by previous owner that the miles are not accurate.
This may or may not be of concern to you. With no reported accidents and that 383 stroker in it that may be the reason the miles are not accurate? Maybe the new engine was not compitiable with the cluster? Not sure.
I can tell you that we would not even entertain taking in that car or any car with a branded title. The term for it is TMU-Total Miles Unknown. The value is severely affected by this. I hope you're stealing it pricewise.

Just a word to the wise. CARFAX only shows reported accidents. My wife bought a PT Cruiser and when she got home with it, I said it's been wrecked. She told me no it hasn't and I have the carfax. I removed the rear tail light assembly and showed her the bondo worms hanging inside the rear fender. We kept it. Slight over spray on lense from poor tape job. Got a great deal.
DO3 is right. Carfax is only as honest as the owner and one making the report are.
A vehicle can be cut in half and sunk to the bottom of the ocean if its fixed internally or an accident report is not filed carfax will not show anything at all.
