Ceramic rotors

Now I have

they're a ceramic matrix composite rotor.... funny you mention those... I had attempted to get a set from braketech back in March 2005. After many delays I told them to forget it in February 2006! I finaly saw a production set in August 2006. They're a big advancement but cost a ton and very hard to source. Things may have improved by now.

Arent ceramic rotors meant for high heat race applications? Just like race brake pads that don't work effectivly until you build enough heat in them. Problem is, during street use you cannot maintain the heat needed.

While these parts are trick, you may want to stick to some HH pads and waverotors. A Brembo caliper upgrade is also comparible to the race spec parts.

Did you read the article in the link?

No, i didn't check the article out. I've seen to many people riding around the DC area on race scuffs and full slicks and i wanted to bring up the hazards of using race spec parts on the street when people don't know about it. Just looking out for the greater good.

Well, read the article and tell me if your experience with ceramic rotors matches up with the authors. I was by no means advocating the use of inapproite race components on the street.

More and more high end cars are coming with them now so I think bikes would be a logical progression but the cost has to be weighed against the actual use. These would assuredly have a lot of poser value.
