chain and sprockets

Gen1 is 17/40. Gen2 is 18/43, a 45 or 46 rear is a nice improvement. It feels alot more torquey, shortens the wheelbase over an inch, and fits the stock length chain.

Sounds good  The ZZZ is one of if not the best chain out there and the 18/44 is a good combo if ya do much freeway riding. If not, ya might wanna try a 45 or 46. And I'd avoid an aluminum sprocket unless ya wanna replace it every tire change.

Yes bottom end, but you won't notice the loss of top end with a 46T either. Your rpm's will only be about 400 higher than normal.

Im a bigger guy and I dropped -1 in the front and saw a HUGE difference and didnt need a new chain.

You don't need a new chain for a +3 rear either. A -1 front will make less use of available torque, the Busa engine will be faster revving, less torquey...like a 1000. The -1 front = +3 rear is a misconception also. They have very similiar over all gear ratios on paper, but they feel much different on the bike.:beerchug:

I just dropped from 18 to 16 on my 08 Busa, left the stock rear 43 and used the same chain and gained some wheel base by this. At the track I got 3/10 quicker and gained 3 mph.
