Chain Lube

I would bet a pile of nickles that his lube is a repackage of one of the others... really I do not think there is a bad one.. just preferences from years of usage.. I started using PJ products when I was a kid riding dirt bikes... never left them.. but have tried the others..

I don't know what their claim is to the SS-51 but I swear by it. I had been using PJ1 or similar products for the past 44 years until 2 years ago. I don't care if it is a repackage (although I wish I knew whose) this stuff is super, it is clean and it works. The only thing I have to wipe off the rear wheel is brake dust.

I use maxima chain wax also. Tried the pj1 and belray, both flew off. Biggest key is apply to warm chain!!! I also wipe off with a rag full of WD-40

ANOTHER chain lube thread?! :banghead:

Personally, I've started using Dupont Multi-Lube. It's the BEST!
NO FLING. Chain always looks clean. It's easy to use (It can be used as a chain cleaner as well!) and very clean (it's not sticky). So I don't mind lubing my chain every ride or every other ride.

Oh I know I should just tip toe through this one but....

Never use WD 40 to clean or lube your chain, drys out the '0' rings.

I never spray WD on the chain just on a rag and only clean the plates not the rollers.

Let's talk about oil and tires now......

"CHAIN WAX", pictured by BA BUSA, only thing ive used since buying my 02 brand new. Just scrubbed it clean with kerosene last weekend and re-lubed, works well..no complaints

I just did my first cleaning and lubing of the chain, makes a huge difference.

Just like oil for the engine, most important thing is to clean the chain with an approved cleaner that won't eat the O rings and put a good lube back on it, if you are doing this you are ahead of most.

Personally I like Maxima Chain Wax but haven't used many of the other brands so I can't say it's the best or not.

Works for me!
