is it bad to have 2 master links in a chain? I want to put about 6 more inches back in my chain and I dont want to spend another $180 if I dont have to. the whole chain only has about 300 miles on it.

I would think it would be OK.
They should be the master links for that specific chain and have to be installed correctly, but if 1 is acceptable another the same should be too.

No it's not a problem to have more than one master link. Make sure it's the riveted and not clip on master though.

Nope, done that before when I cut a chain too short. Had to splice in another handful of links, recut it, then put in a second link. Better than trashing a nearly $200 chain. Come to think of it, I think that's the chain that's on my bike right now. It has about 11,000 miles on it which is what I get from any chain.

I wouldn't put the two master links adjacent to each other is all. No good reason, I just wouldn't do it.
