Changing front sprocket from 17 to 16 teeth

How will changing the front sprocket from 17 to 16 affect my top speed? I currently have a TRE so the top speed is not limited. Has anyone tried this? 2006 Hayabusa.

Doesn't that make your chain wear faster. Can't you accomplish the same thing by going up in the rear with less wear on the chain?

YAH MAN THE LIFE SPAN OF your chain will wear off faster than it usually takes .. pls takenote of that..
