Chatterbox problems?

Just got the new chatterbox gmrs x1 yesterday from my parents for finishing my apprenticeship.
Charged it completely overnight and then some, prob. 16 hrs. total.
Went to try it out today with Dad's GMRS radios and I could receive, but he could not hear me, no matter how loud I screamed into the mic.
Took the "sock" off of the mic and still no luck.
Just wondering if anyone has ever had any problems with Chatterbox units?
Hopefully the place I bought it from will make good on it, and send another one.
Is there a way to adjust the mic gain to make it better?
Tried it with VOX hi and low and PTT, and it still won't work.

The only problem I have had is with the cheesy mounting bracket for the helmet. Send and receive have been fine.

I used to go threw alot of mics . They sell two different ones and the more expensive one came wit a thicker cord . It was about $38 if I remember .

This one come with the noise reducing headset.
Apparently it does it's job real good.

How far out were you? I am just wondering if you could hear him but he couldn't hear you because of range... try it in close proximity see if it works then...

Within 100' with me inside and him outside.
Don't think range was a problem.

Sounds like a bad mike. I had to use the spare mike for the passenger to get it to work.

Guess we'll see how the Helmet shop is at taking care of their customers then.

Helmet shop is going to send out a replacement headset.
Hopefully that will get it taken care of.

My mike stays keyed open all the time due to the wind - need push to talk.

Received the new headset from Helmet Shop.
Took care of the problem and is working good now.
They even put prepaid return shipping labels in the box to send the defective one back.
Good company to do business with.
