Cheapest place for BMC air filter?

Hey fellow thrifty bus owners ..Wheres the best deal on BMC air filters?

Choices are few, Yoshimura-USA or Factory.

Cost is about $70, thats what I paid at Skycycle.

what do these filters do for the bike, i mean i know what they do but performance wise are they worth the money has anyone seen results from a dyno?

Is there a speical part number for the BMC filter that is used on the Busa and does anyone know of any shops that are carrying it in the San Jose area? Is $70 the going price?

Let me see, I payed $89.95 at factory.

And the part # is FI-BMC-20411s gsx1300r, 99 Hayabusa. That how its listed on my invoice..



PS and the Denso plug are ND-4132 U27ES-N-ZU

What is so special about this filter? How many people have independently verified the 2-4 rwhp gain? It seems awfully high for just an air filter considering how little you get from a pipe. Is the busa heavily restricted on the intake?

I have worked with Marc from Factory for 2 years in the AMA race series. If Marc says it's 2-4 hp, then it's because he ran a bike on his dyno for the compare. He spent around 2 hours at the race in Brainerd, MN tuning a small flat spot around 3k rpm. He wanted to get it perfect, I was quite happy with what he had done up to that point.
