check your sterring damper

Thanks the washer worked , but there still seems to be play in the damper. test drive tommorow see if the clicking noise stopped.

I had this rattle. traced it to a connector block under nose cone knocking on plastic, steering head bearings loose and damper.
I did also remove damper, thought it was a little loose so added a washer to the bolt (if you see, the bolt that holds the damper unit the the headstock bottoms out, that is how you torque it. This lets the centre plastic mount rotate freely. If you get a washer and place under the bolt head, it takes up some of the slack, but still lets it move freely. Also clean the dirty grease of and regrease.

Worked for me!!

looks like allen bolt just snugs up the bushing since the bolt was tight. seems to be falling out of the bushing, must ware over time try the washer for a quick fix for now. check with dealer on monday let you know.

Insert can rotate right the way, all directions Busawon.

Just need to take out the slack that has developed in the bushing to allen bolt head clearance. washer same size as round bushing. just the ticket!!

heard funny rattel for 3 weeks , i could not figure it out. come to find out my steering damper is loose . looks like the rubber bushing were it pivot is wore out. check will dealer for warranty fix mnday.

I was going to tighten mine right up and remove all play, but decieded that was not a good idea as then it wont turn!!

A little play, but not too much is what you need.

clicking noise is still there , take the damper off soon and see what happens.

yeah I had that too

copper slip on back of pad. Nasty!!

another is an electrical connector block flapping around in nose cone.

If you can grab the damper and pull it up and down, you will notice it doesn't make a noise.

I thought perhaps the valves in the front forks, but I don't know if there are any....I'll look tonight.

try and lightly hold the front brake on my pads rattle like a twat thought it was the damper but managed to trace it down to brakes
