There are only 2 valves per cylinder?? Intake & exhaust??

I thought there were more...

2 intake, 2 exhaust, that much I am sure of, I wish I could further help you, but that may as well be written in the original Japanese.....

What I really need clarification on is it seems that there are only 8 valves to check, 4 ex 4 in, and I think there are 16 valves.

And this table confuses the crap outa me;

valve4.jpg

The 2 exhaust and 2 intake valves should open at the same time, so the measurement should be exactly the same, right?

OK, that makes sense

The table is just restating what the other figures are saying. The table and the figures are saying the same thing just differently. I thought the table was trying to show something different

Allright, now I'll pull the head cover and pull out me feeler gage

Valves are all within spec!

Couple notes for anyone how hasn't done it before.

1) When turning the crankshaft, clockwise(direction of engine rotation), line up the groove in the threads on the valve timing inspection hole with the line marked on the disc(starter clutch). Not the 2 holes on the disc(starter clutch).

2) You don't have to dissassemble the whole throttle body. All you need to do is loosen the 2 clamp screws and pop off the whole assembly and just move it over enough to get the cylinder head cover out. No need to remove fuel lines, etc...
