Chrome gas tank

I was checking on getting the tank chromed on my bike.. I was told that it will take the coating out of the inside of the tank that helps prvent it from rusting.. Is there a treatment that can be done to replace it???

I've seen a few done, but have no idea on the rust prevention or nothing. Don't really like it myself, but to each their own.

I did mine. I had to cream the inside of the tank. its a 2 part solution that you mix and fill the tank with. It dries white like a painted finish. its messy and everything has to be removed and plugged beofre doing it. ask your local parts shop, they'll know what it is. I'll try to post a pic.

I would much rather have that. No more scratched tank from actually riding it and no issues with thigh grip.
