I purchased some chrome grips from ebay. It said they where for a 99-09 busa. But they did not fit in the plastic pod where the throttle tube goes. These are not china grips they come from a shop in Tennesse. It took me several hours of grinding on my custom bike to finally make them work right. I could get the throttle tube to sit in the pod but it would not retract once you let go of the throttle after pulling it back. Any ways heres some pics once i got them installed. The left grip was no issues.

so it didn't just slide onto to the tube?
did you force it on?
do those grips use set screws to hold them in place?
you said you did some grinding. what did you grind?
i need a little more info in order to help.

The chrome hand grip is the throttle tube. Its a one piece assembly. I had to grind the inside of the red pods where the throttle wires conect to the tube. It would not return to the closed position until I grinded the inside of the pods, they had to be made wider.
