Not trying to be smart, but I believemost the majority of the rims you see chromed are stock.

Theres a thread here to on how to strip the stock rims and get them Highly polished too!

It is probably the most sure way to not end up with somebodies bent or damaged wheels when you swap them out. It is best to send yours to a chrome plating company yourself.

YUP, I agree !!!! When you send your wheels in, most of the time you get another set of rims that have already been chromed. I'm sure not every place does it this way. So I guess you could just ask ?

I had my stock rims chromes. It depends on you and how much you want to spend. There's a lot of real nice aftermarket rims out there. I stayed with the stock. You'll find prices for stock run anywhere from $400 and up. here's a shot of my bike.

If your interested in stock chrome wheels, give site sponsor Smithers Customs a call .He has them in stock and will do an exchange for your wheels at special Hayabusa.org prices.

I have chromed alot of parts on my previus bike before the Busa, ZX11
I would NOT recomend it or do it again on the Busa...

1. All those chrome goodies look like crap unless you wipe them all down before every ride.

2. If you dont clean them after riding and leave the dirt on, you will have premature pitting of the chrome.

All and all, polished lips on the rims are a much better way to go and less matenence..

Just my two cents...

+1

If you Parking Lot Pimp, go for chrome...if you RIDE, forget it...

Polishing is not the easiest thing to keep looking nice either which is why I went with chrome.

I agree 100%!!!

My ZX-11 was polished. IT SUCKED!!
I was ALWAY polishing, trying to keep it looking good.
I spent more time polishing than I did riding.
I WOULD NEVER POLISH ANOTHER PART!
With chrome, you can spray the wheels with Windex, wipe them off and go riding, or do it when you get home from the ride and it's ready when you get ready to go again.
It take 5-10 minutes.

Chrome is very easy to clean. Just spray some S100 let it sit, then hose off. Wipe down and yer done.
