clanking gearbox

I have now run in and had the first service on my 2008/09 B.King.Mileage now sits at 1200.Having enjoyed on my previous high powered bikes the odd wheelie or three(obviously not on the Queens highway)I am experiencing a loud/clanking sound/feel which appears to come from the gearbox when dropping the clutch.Apart from this all other aspects of the transmission are smooth i.e normal gear changes.

Is this a normal trait ?

Please,if any one can help/advise.

For anyone who has put the GIpro/Atre on their B.Kings,at first I was disappointed with the performance.I spoke to the distributor and the retailer I purchased it through, they BOTH gave me the incorrect setting.I e.mailed the manufacturer and they apologised that the INCORRECT info was in the instructions. The setting should be on 4.Now the difference is noticeable.

Looking forward to being involved with the fraternity and I will keep you updated on future mods such as screens, grips and foot peg mods(which I have already carried out)

No its not the oil.The reason I say this is,
1) The problem was apparent prior to the first service.

2) Oil is branded semi synthetic.

No,if the clutch is let out normally or even sharp(ish) it all seems ok.
When at the traffic lights and holding the clutch at "bitingposition" with 1st gear in position there is a feel of modulating. The clanking only becomes apparent when the clutch is dropped/let out quickly when the bike is stationary or under power.

My Gen 1 did the same thing until I did the clutch cam set mod.
As far as I know your bike has the same type of set up for the clutch cam set. (different parts but works the same way).
You may be able to buy an aftermarket solid part like this:

"The Brock's Performance Clutch Mod assembly disables the factory Suzuki back-torque cam assembly (sometimes mistakenly known as a "slipper clutch"). This allows the rider to perform a smooth launch as opposed to the grab-n-jerk associated with trying to launch a stock machine from a dead stop."

or there is a mod where you get it welded.(like the pics)

I got the Brock's part and it fixed the problem you are describing for me.

Thankyou so much for what appears to have answered the problem.
It seems the design in the clutch is the reason.
Not a problem....I will still enjoy every other aspect of this wonderful (underrated)m/cycle.
For any one who is interested I can SERIOUSLY recommend the MFW vario peg system.Using the 30mm extension bars it opens the whole bike up.Easy fitting(8 minutes) total cost including p&p = £73-00.

All the best.
