Busa buddies, have recently fitted a Clear Alternatives IT-intergrated Tailight Assy. Has anyone had problems with the resistors, is it just me or do the connections break easy ?

Anyone know of a good quality replacement resistor, it rating is 20W 5ohm

I had the same problem. I ended up connecting some wire to the little piece of metel that comes out of the resistor. I heard you can get them from electronic stores. maybe even some autoparts stores.

The resistors are great. The connections stink. I removed the the original wires and put new wires on then shrink wrapped. Made all the difference in the world.

1+ with new wires, the resistors are fine, you can buy them at any local electronics store, solder lead wires and shrink wrap.

Just curious where people are mounting the resistors, they do build up a little heat if you leave the blinker on for a period of time.

Don't think it will build up too much heat with a Busa, click click and your gone

Found these on ebay $16/pair (£8) will give them a try

Mine are mounted on the back of the cross bar that the hump latch is on with 3M Duoloc.

You could always splice in a new flasher that would fix the rear and then if you ever added LEDs to the front you would already be set. Less than $5 from your local auto parts store.

I have the switchback LEDs on the way for the front. I am hoping that load resistors I have in the system will be enough to slow everything down. If they aren't I will add the new relay.

Exactly my configuration as well. I did shrink wrap the wiring coming out of them too. Stability and protection is all they need.

A bonus is that the crossbar seems to dissipate some of the heat.

I just tossed both resistors! The Hyper Flash catches the eye better anyway. it's all about getting noticed ans that spastic signal gets noticed.

I attached the resistors to the cross bar with tie wraps... of course I have pictues, I just can't get to them here otherwise I would post it because I know we are picture whores here.

I'm with Rev on the hyperflash theory....as a matter of fact?...I've had a pair of the CA LED front directionals (un-installed and sitting on my dresser for about 6 months now) as well and they even "CAME WITH" an adjustable flasher...i dunno why i haven't wired'em in yet...questionable quality?....lack of free time?...or?...maybe i just dig the current "Hyperflash" of my "resistor-less" CA integrated tail/brakelight/directionals...and on another note?...a real important one?...

I wasn't very happy with my CA rear tail-light lens...the brightness was almost acceptable if you were looking dead at it but...from close up on it or?...from slight side angle views?....it was barely noticable..so?..I inspected the difs between the two rear tail lenses...and besides being D.O.T. Certified? (unlike the CA lens).....the stock oem lens had more than double the refraction steps in the plastic casting...and just fer shids and giggles?...i put the stock OEM lens back on with the CA intergrated led board and Holy Shid!...what a freak'in dif....it was like twice as bright and highly visable from all angles..and yes...the amber turn signal leds are still very..well?..."AMBER"...even through the stock OEM red tali-light lens...it remains in place to this day....i gotz too many retired blueheads down here in south florida...that can drive but can't see or react..and i can fill one of my hands with the names of riding aqquaintances that have gotten nailed in the azz while sitting at stoplights down my way so...bright and red it is.
