Clicking brakes....I know why

So, my new brakes started clicking shortly (immediately) after I changed brake pads not a month ago. They were squeaky at first, so I took 'em off and cleaned the caliper and pistons real well.

They clicked a bit afterwards, but thought, "they're not seated yet".

At the bash, I investigated further and found that one of my springs is gone. SO, I need one. Anyone want to permanently loan one to me? Wrong section, I know. In order to make up for it, I'm posting a pic from the bash.

*dumb question* ... what spring, where is it? I haven't changed my pads yet but have pulled calipers off to change wheel/tires... haven't came across a spring yet.. thanks in advance for the info:thumbsup: nice pic too:whistle: hate seeing the LEOs sittin on side of the road like that.

The flat metal clip, not really what you would call a traditional spring.
There is also no such thing as a dumb question...and I say that to cover my own az as well:rofl:

this is interesting as ive noticed my front brakes click like crazy, although as soon as i apply them it stops ???. will have to check for this spring (take it you mean the metal retaining clip on the back of the pads?)

That pic reminds me of Saturday on the Dragon. 318 curves and 20 leos in 11 miles

They were standing in the road in awe of my skills at driveing slow enough to make sure my shinko's didnt slip out from under me!!!!... Then droo goes "flying by!!!!"

Shiiizzzz.... I was behind Bubba on his GS500 coming out of a turn doing a blazing.... wait for it.... 16 mph

Yeah, our tickets are $228.00. Tennessee State Troopers corrupt as all get out. I'm thinking about uploading it to youtube to show what the deal is. You do the speed limit (or under), and you're still dead meat with a hefty ticket in hand.

I took the rear bracket off and could move the pads around a bit... I couldn't see if I put the shims back on behind the pads though. I did have the rod going through each pad and the cotter pin was still in there... I'll take the pads out tonight to see if I installed the shims. Is there anything else in there other than:

2 shims
2 pads
rod (to go through the shims and pads)
cotter pin (to hold the rod, shims, & pads in line)
bracket (to protect the pads from dirt, oil, debris)
2 bolts (to hold the bracket on)

What's the officer doing in the picture, is he stopping traffic~?~

(Or just trying to get his toes squished)

Sure there is - the one never asked. Especially if it gets you hurt.

Is this spring on the back side of the pad next to the caliper like a shim. I only ask because I didn't see it when I took my calipers off to replace my front wheel.
