Clutch Fibers and Steels

I have a 2000 BUSA and I'm looking into pricing for the clutch fibers and steels.

From what I understand the following is what I need.

11 steels

9 clutch fibers

This might be vice versa, but the total cost for all of this is roughly $170 for the original Suzuki parts.

Does this sound right? If you've got part numbers that would really help!

Thanks1

I didn't understand that post either but here is my .02 anyhow...

I bought a replacement clutch from Schnitz that I paid in the neighborhood of $160-170.00 for and it onlt lasted a few weeks. I'm not positive but I'll assume it was a Barnett or something, it was rapped in Schnitz plastic so I really don't know. So of course I wasn't real happy about that clutch at all. So when I replaced it I went back and got one from a Suzuki dealer and retail was like $270.00 or something, although I got it for dealer cost which was under $180.00. I've had that clutch in there for the last month or so and just checked it last weekend, it still looks brand new. So just make sure you get the Suzuki OEM clutch and nothing else.

Also a little FYI I just switched my clutch from 2 thick fibers to 4 thick fibers and it works great. I think there are 10 fibers 2 thick and 8 thin. So now I have 4 thick and 6 thin or something like that. The clutch was a little grabby for the first few miles but one pass down the track and it was ready to go!

booker there 10 fiber plates and 9 steel plates there are 2 thicker fiber plates they go in first and last there are 2 thicker steel plates they go in 4th and 5th make sure the last fiber plate goes in other slot pay attention to disassembly . also soak fiber plates in oil for 1 hour torque bolts for springs to 10 Nm. or 7 .0 ft lbs.

So how many fibers and how many steels are needed to replace the clutch on a y2k Hayabusa. I'm going to be using OEM parts.
