Clutch Release Cylinder Leaking

Anyone have a leak problem with the clutch release cylinder?

Suzuki poorly designed this unit. The backside is totally exposed to the crap the chain throws at it. Over time, the dirt, grit and grime is collected on the piston as it moves in/out of the cylinder, scratching at the wall and may cause leaking (as in my case).

2004 model has a small rubber cup in this area. A cheap quick fix by Suzuki that addresses this problem. In my opinion, I don't think it will do a great job.

I fabricated a metal part to cover this area completely.

I'll post the pics.

I could never figure out where I was losing clutch fluid from my 02. That must have been it , now I have an 04.

I just changed my chain last month and now the fluid has turned cludy. Must have got some dirt in the line via that rod and cup area. Guees I'll have to drain and refill.

resurrecting...mine is leaking...do I just have to replace the inner o-ring? What do I have to do and where can I get the parts?

Thanks
