Clutchless shifting

Most everyone knows that clutchless shifting is possible on pretty much all motorcycles due to the design of the tranny. However I have only done it on occasion and never with my Busa. So here are my questions.

When is it "proper and prudent" to shift clutchless?
What is the best technique (let off throttle - full throttle ?)?
What is the potential for accelerated wear to the tranny?

I don't want to damage my baby so be honest and speak from experience please, not "I heard".

you have to unload the tranny to do it correctly.
air or electirc work fine if you want a shifter.
If you are doing it yourself (no shifter just foot)
then you have to develop a technic to blip the throttle to unload the trans

I only do it have RPMs over 8k, mostly because I have a multistage lock-up clutch, so it is nearly impossible to pull in the clutch over 8k. I just back of the throttle for a split second, pop in into the next gear, and open it back up. FAST. In fact, I believe it is a faster shift then the air shifter I have. When I use the air shifter, however, I never let of the throttle!

I don't see whats so scary about it for everyone.... I've done it on all the dirt bikes I"ve owned and all the street bikes I"ve ridden...

I usually don't downshift with the clutch but upshifting is as easy and using the clutch...just back off the throttle...click up to the next gear and back on the gas and away you go.
