Colt Python value

I have a Colt Python 6" blue serial #v401xx . xx not actual number. Looking for information on mfg date and current value. I see them for 750.00-1300.00 on diferent sites. Any help appreciated. Gun is a 9.5 out of 10.

I have a couple of "new in box" pythons that I paid around $1,500-$2,000 about a year ago. Your best bet is to go "Gunbroker.com" and see if any are in the same condition as your, (ie, unfired, fired in 95%, includes matching box). From your post I gather it's been fired and in "good" condition (some minor blemishes), and does not include the box. I would suspect the price you mentioned is probably fair, around 750-1000.

Also, google, "colt" and "serial number" and you may get the colt website which indicates the year of manufacture.

Looks like $1,000.00-1,500.00 Judging by what others consider very good condition, this one is perfect. may be for sale within next couple months. Got from a friend as collateral on loan. He has owned since 1986 and bought it from a police officer. known history on gun. very seldom shot. no scratches or marks.
