Combining a tre & pciii

Hi there,

I've searched a lot on this Board, and your info has saved me a lot of headaches, believe me.

I live in Portugal, and as you may imagine, Dyno Tune-up centers are not very common... My mods up to now were: Hel Brake Lines, K&N Air filter, Vance & Hines S4 Titanium bolt-ons, a PCIII USB and a Tune up with some guys who came to Portugal from the UK, and got 161.41 RWHP, with a Mx torque of 13.58 (by the way, does this feel ok to you?).

Now, my question is: I know what a TRE is, and what it's used for, but installing one together with a PC III won't it change the settings enabled by the map, or they operate on different aspects of the bike?

A normal TRE (aka JSD) that sends a constant 5th gear.... does keep only one fuel map used at all times. I normally tune on the dyno with the JSD installed, but you really wont see that big of a change if you tune then isntall it later on.

Thx Jeffw. SO, this means that the work I had (well, paid for) tunnig the bike won't be wasted or "lost" by adding a TRE, right?

I thought the PCIII got rid of the limiter in 6th. Would my performance increase if I added tre to my PCIII? Looking for cheap hp.

Did the GPS mod on mine. JC also supplies modded GPS (Gear Position Sensor) as well. I know exactly what he did to the mod but since he's the one who came up with the mod, you'll have to talk to him.

It's a real easy install. You have to remove the clutch basket, no need to drain oil as long as she's on the sidestand. And the GPS is located on the bottom left side behind basket.

Keeps all of you maps intact except 6th (which has the 5th gear map).
