I was told that if I were to change my pipes to an aftermarket pipe, the computer would automatically adjust itself. Now that is what I heard from the Service Manager at the shop. Does anybody know anything about this?

When u hear such bull from a Service Manager
its time to change him automatically.
Read the other replys about aftermarked exaust systems.

The map settings are +5 for low, mid, and high fuel settings for a full Yosh Race Dulpex system with Stock Air Filter.

The map settings are +5 for low and high, +10 for mid fuel settings for a full Yosh Race Duplex system with aftermarket air filter.

These setting are enabled with use of the Yosh Fuel Control.
DynoJet Power Commander is two weeks away , they are testing pipes at this moment and are writeing maps for the boxes. But the boxes are built and are just waiting for software to be installed.

This information is new as of Thursday June 24, 1999. I spoke to Tech Dept at both Yosh and DynoJet- Dont expect great power gains SUZUKI did it right from the factory. As for Akrapovic they are still in developement and have yet to ship a pipe into the US(Lockhart Tech Dept. today). DynoJet has been testing pipes since last Saturday, Yosh, Micron???

Thanks for those settings...were they done with a exhaust analyzer or dyno...or possibly by seat of pants? By saying a yosh duplex you do mean a 4 into 1. This is first post that I have seen where someone has given figures like that! By the way what is your altitude? Thanks Again!

When you hear that a Yosh pipe is a duplex it means that the exhaust has a crossover balancs tube between 1 and 2 and between 3 and 4- By the way who makes an aftermarket air filter setup?

Well here`s the part of the wolf newsletter that anyone wishing can get. I will only type here what concerns the busa...this is word for word. We have also been working flat out to get our new systems for the gsxr1300 finished. We had a 4-2-1 from the first day the bike launched but now have developed a "killer" 4-2 system which boosts power by 20bhp. A real winner we thought- unique in the market we thought-until Akropovic launched one the same week....Ah Well! If I`ve been drinking I didn`t know it. Call this dude and ask him if its bull.....just repeating his claims...not verifying it. Checked with friend that runs speed shop.....has installed 6 yosh pipes and dynoed everyone plus remapped ...7 hp is the most gain that he has seen and that is without a air filter. 165.6 is the most hp he has seen out of stock busa with pipe...that seems to be pretty much in line....this same bike also had 159 hp stock...also the most he has seen.

Just got mail today from wolf out of UK ..,claims to have system for busa that makes 20 hp...4 into 2. Claims that his 4 into 2 into 1 makes 8 more ponies. Hold on for these prices ...4 into 2 is 1350 US plus shipping and duty. 4 into 1 is 1080 plus shipping and duty. Talked to friend in UK and was told these are absolutely full race systems with choice of titanium or carbon can. Thier titanium can is annodized and is beautiful. Have checked with pipe masters in australia and they are working on pipe...if you have ever seen one ...they are beautiful. Both these pipes appear to be of the highest quality...wolf systems are in stock and claimed to be on your door in three days. Also in his mail said that akropovic has come out with 4 into 2....makes me think that 4 into 2 is going to be way to go for all out hp.

Duplex meaning a crocssover tube between 2 and 3. These setting were generated at Yoshimura USA meaning they are base settings from which to start. I also spoke to the Director of Fuel Injection Developement at DynoJet today, when I asked him if would be OK to run the bike with a pipe installed without changeing the fuel mapping, he suggested it may run a little choppy on and off the throttle at low speed but nowhere should it run bad or harmful to the motor till I got to a Yosh Box to change the mapping(while I wait for my Power Commander box).
Air filters are to become available from either Yoshimura or Factory. They are Italian imports and are OEM in Ferrarri Automobiles. K&N is still a long way from putting out a Hayabusa filter.
The exhaust that is being described in this post is a R147RRD Titanium DuplexRace only system, There are no Dynos that can replicate wind speed unless they are set up in a wind tunnel. Maybe this is why the Stock exhaust is so damn good(also HEAVY 32lb and Quiet).
Both DynoJet and Yoshimura have commented on the efficiency of the stock system. The DynoJet Power Commander also allows for ignition advance curves to be altered. The Yosh And the DynoJet boxes work on differant theory but they often achieve the same results, the DynoJet offering more adjustment and future improvement since differant maps will be able to downloaded through the internet as they become available from the DynoJet database which is created through
shops who upload their info back to DynoJet.

The air filters are available through either Yoshimura or Factory Pro (these are the only importers, they are Waiting for delivery Approx. 2 weeks)

Show me the FACTS: A Wolf pipe that makes 20HP, tell me have you been drinking and typing again. You should not come here with dreams and second hand stories.
