Concert ticket prices!!!!!

vman1300

Never Forgotten
I got a presale notification last night for Journey, Cheap Trick and Heart. I clicked on the link today and ticket prices for the good seats are $129.50!!!!

I understand fuel costs are high, but this is over double what I payed to see Journey last year. I guess we will be missing this show.....and wait for the DVD.

When I was a kid, we used to pay face value for concert tix... Then this ticketmaser bullsh!t came out and everything changed... pathetic that the bands let them exploit it like this..

Guess it's because there are 3 bands, so they're thinking "3 shows at the cost of 3 shows"...now you see why I buy "lawn seats" and even though my old back and ass don't always feel great afterwards, LAWN PEOPLE RULE! (and we have $ to buy food and drink at the show)

I miss the days of camping out and trying to be first in line for tickets...I hate Ticketmaster...

Lawn seats.....$40!!!!!!!

Last year, Journey, REO and Styx $50....

Inflation sucks!!!!!

There's absolutely NO mystery that Ticketmaster is a profiteering enterprise, They sell prime seats
at slightly over face value to scalpers in lots of 50-100 (sometimes getting kickbacks). Ticketmaster has been to court
138 times for profiteering, but when you make more than you spend in court fees, it's still worth every rotten penny.

It's the same thing Big Oil is doing to us.

Just remember this: It's a big club.........and we ain't in it!
Revolution!!!

That's cheap for lawn LOL

I've got tickets to three concerts this summer...most expensive one was $56/ticket and that's for a comedy show...I'm not complaining...

When the Eagles reunited and did their "Hell freezes over" tour, it didn't freeze here 'cause I didn't go...I refused to pay $100 to watch 'em...

man i would rather see small venue shows then stadium sell outs. I have seen kiss pantera, metallica corn zombie ozzy, manson, and the list goes on. Just liek we went to a local bar 40 minutes away for a 5 band show. yeah they arent signed but still they put on a hell of a show.

if your into metal like me you will appreciate the guys touring to make ends meet for example here are some of the bands i will be seeing in the next few months;
five finger death punch,eli-stone,know lyfe,sighlo,red ethics,mushroomhead,shadows fall

i mean the shows are great if any one needs help locateing some shows maybe even some bands let me know i am into alot of different genres and sociallize with alot of these people

but ticketmaster is for the old

...doesn't help that so many "scalping" companies pay droves to buy up as many tickets as they can...your show sells out in minutes, then you're left dealing with Great Seats and paying 4X the original price...

Everyone wants a piece of the action...the artists aren't the biggest money makers anymore...

Rush Hemespheres tour $7.00

Rush Moving pictures tour $11.00

I remember the Maiden Powerslave tour 84-85.. I saw them a few times on that tour, but I remember seeing the pink fences on stage and remember them being the glam dudes from Pee-Wee's big adventure, but when they came out they were really not that bad haha.. Accept was on part of that tour too and I remember they were tight as hell! $15.00

My favorite though was Metallica opening for Ozzy during the Master Of Puppets tour.. To have an arena filled with people that thought "shot in the dark" was heavy. Metallica comes out (RIP Cliff), no shirts, no shoes they looked like they just woke up and they tore the roof off the place opening with Battery haha.. People were actually holding there ears haha. $15.00

Saw Rush Signals tour 1983ish, Saw Ozzy in 1982, only 6 mos before Randy Rhoads died, such a loss. Still trying to do Randy's Crazy Train justice on my Les Paul.

$40 or $50 for Lawn? That's cheap. For the Eagles or Steely Dan or Yes or other concerts in Atlanta this spring/summer the Lawn seats START at $100.00 (yes, they have progressively priced lawn tickets). If you want good "seats" prepare to shell out about $250.00 (or more) each. And if you want center-stage front-row for Eagles last I checked the tickets were like $3750 EACH (that's three-THOUSAND & 750). I'll wait for the DVD's as well (but I really would like to go to Yes because this will probably be the last chance to ever see them live again - this is their 40th Anniversary Tour and Jon Anderson hates to tour).
