I have a 6k low and an 8k high - I don't think that you can wrong with any HID kit; Xenon King is a ponsor here and was offering a special no too long ago; best advice is to get a kit that is plug and play rather than slice in...

I JUST PURCHASED A 8000K LOW BEAM AND 6000K HIGH BEAM SETUP, THANKS FOR THE HELP FELLOWS!!

I got the group buy deal from XenonKing about a month ago. I went with 5k high and low. I ended up putting a time delay on the low. I hear that putting the higher Temp bulbs in the high beam (projector) will scatter the light. I went with the McCough... I think it was $230 for the complete kit. Was mailed to me in about a week. I really think the time delay is the way to go with the DEA 528T timer (google it) as well, so save yourself the time and have both when you do the modification.

I set mine up with an on/off switch; what benefit do you find with a time delay?

I don't have a aux switch to deal with, I like to keep a clean low frills control area, minimize swtich/controls as much as possible. The time delay is automatic, I don't have to do anything, just crank her up and about 60 seconds later, the low HID comes on. Nothing to forget about...

Xenon King is a board sponsor. They stock the product so shipping is usually quicker. If you ahve a problem, you are not waiting for replacement parts. Mine is over McCulloch is over 2 years old without a glitch. The delay relay is a good idea. I have a headlight cutout and would sometimes have to restart the light after starting the bike. That went away on my bike when I went to the YTZ14s battery however.

5000-6000k will give you the best lighting performance. Use a 4300-5000k if the law enforcement in your area is cracking down on aftermarket lights. 4300-5000k is closest to factory HIDs. 6000K will be just slightly bluer but seems to offer the best lighting performance. 8000K will start looking closer to blue/purple, more so purple as you go up. More bling, but less lighting performance.

I hope you ment to write that the other way around... 8000 low will give you a blue/purple'ish low beam that wont be as good as a 6000 is. 6000 low and 8000 high is what most are doing...

I get a feeling there is going to be a debate on the high temp blubs with the projector high beam set up...

The 8000k in the low beam give you a blue tint, and is very clear to see going down any given road! A 6000k works great for the high beam, with a much whiter light, only because the projector on the busa has such a dark background, if you match the 2 bulbs it doesn't seem to light up the road as much! I've tried several different combinations and found that the 8000 in the low beam and the 6000 in the high beam in my opinion works the best!

Here's a pic of the 8k low beam. It is more blue than the 6k or lower beams, but still plenty bright enough. Haven't had any problems with police in your area, Bob.

If you're a fair weahter rider the 8000k HID is cool for riding on a clear day or night but its a whole different ball game when riding at night during the rain. Otherwise for saftey I would suggest keeping it at 5000k or lower if you ride in the rain especially at night. I've owned two sets of HID's 4300k and 6000k. Currently I'm using the 6000k because I like they way they lQQk but the 4300k out performs them by far especially on the back roads and in the rain.
