I'm going to need to mount my Harbor Freight Chock to my truck bed for the BusaBash.
I wanted to use Eyebolts to secure the chock. These eyebolts would obviously supply additional tie-down points.
Unscrewing eyebolts from the bottom of the bed seemed like a pain, for mounting and unmounting.
Here is a cool solution from Competition Accessories. The "eyebolt" is two pieces. Piece (1) is a hollow threaded base, piece (2) is the eyebolt itself.(I purchased (4)of the larger 1/2" size).
My chock will be "captured" between the base parts and the eyebolts. I may add a locknut/washer to the eyebolts.
The low profile piece(1)base can permanently stay in the truck. The hollow base will allow truck bed water to drain. I may opt to put a rounded head carriage bolt/rubber washer in there(to plug hole when not in use).
