a) How much do they cost?
b) Where can I buy em online?
c) Do they affect the handling of the bike?

Thanks in advance for all the input people

I've seen a couple of pairs in person and they are top notch. Not the most spacious, but very nice bags.

Not to change the topic or hijack the thread but....There ain't no way in Satans Home I'd pay that sorta cash for Beetle Bags....oh they're nice and all but...they ain't $1,100 worth of nice..and on another note I just recieved correspondence from Cycleventures Inc....the folks who make/supply the "Ventura Rack System".

It's cool as heck cause it appears they supply a backrest/sissybar type Tail Rack/Pack that bolts right up and takes the place ofe your stock oem grab handle...then any one of several differently sized packs slide over the sisybar/backreast protion and down onto the integral tail-rack....or?...you can simply bungee cord items to the tail-rack....and that's about as handy and versitile as it gets....also...they offer up a couple discount packages....the "Sport Kit" (about $225)gives you the rack assy and a smaller sport bag and the "Touring Kit" gives you the rack assy with both the sport bag and a touring bag that has 45-50+ liters of storage space pending model/package chosen for about $350.

Advantages?....weighs next to nothing....pops on or off in minutes...choice of no bag (tail rack/bungee only), small sport bag or large capacity touring bag...no waxing required....you can still use any exhaust system your little heart desires (not so with beetle bags) and...it costs less than 1/3rd of beetle bags.

To each their own but...since I've been investigating it recently myself I figured I'd letcha know about "some other options".

L8R, Bill.

Thanks Jinx, I've never heard of that company. I'll check them out. I agree $1100 for bags, no way in the world.

I checked out the corbin site... as usual, they dont ship to india

I have checked out the beetle bags and bought the ventura rack system. My 2 cents...

Beetle system is more of a looks thing, smaller storage but it is lockable. You can't put high mount pipes with the beetles. Costs a lot.

I have owned the ventura rack and like it. Lots of room. Can take a passenger no problem. Can strap just about anything to the rack. You CAN'T use it as a back rest. It does not lock.

Overall I like the Ventura system.

Hey Shen, thought you might want to see the Ventura system on a Busa.  I must agree with Jinkster and Buzz on how well this system works.

I have matching Teknic saddlebags, but since I got the Ventura system I wont be using them again.

Thanks mate, that looks kinda nice... but can you put on one of those if you use the hump

I mean... I never put on the rear seat these days... so will the ventura system fit on the bike with a hump.

I've never tried Shen but I don't see why the hump won't fit with the Ventura pack on. The pack dosn't hang over the grab bar, so it should be alright.

shenoyp ,

Just google Ventura Rack Systems + UK . BTW , they are made by Dode International in New Zealand . Obtaining one should not be a problem for you .

Comes with bag rack , sport rack and handrail and all interchange in seconds .

I can carry " less jeans " 9 days of fresh clothes for Wife and self in the 45 liter pack with rain wear bungeed on the rack .

Someone said they tested the packwhile riding two-up to an indicated 171 MPH on a ZX-9R and all was well . I forget who that was though

just got my Beetle Bags installed last night...did my fairing screens and SS brakelines as well.
here are a few snaps of the bags on an 05 Blue/Silver.
BTW, I bought the bags from another board member here and they USED to be black....I had a local shop paint them and my mirrors to match the Suzuki color....me likes!

I'll be posting more pic in the appropriate section for the other parts....

I will say that these ARE nice...however, for practical purposes...you can spend much less and be able to pack more than you can with these....but these just look sweet to me.

I have Corbin bags (blue) that I would sell if anyone were interested. Since my girl got here own bike, and I bought a trailer, I never use them.

Hit me up if someone is interested. The price would be pretty darn good.
