Cracked Windsheild

I have a Puig DB and love it. As most of you PUIG owners know they don't exactly fit great, at least on the 09. So I thought I would just switch out the rubber nut that comes stock to hold in the windsheild and go with another one that pulled things together nicely. I was riding the other day and I heard a loud "Pop"!. Stopped to look around the bike but all looked good and felt fine. Well when I got her back in the garage and took a good look at her I found this crack. Guess that's why it's not held in tight with regular bolts.

Are you sure your upper cowl brace is not bent or twisted in any way?? I have not seen any screens cracking before you posted this? Some is either too tight, or not straight!

I'm pretty sure it was the tighter bolts I used on it. I plan to buy another Puig to replace it.

I had two of them break like this with no tight bolts, and only cleaned with Plexus. They were both a very tight fit and were definitely under stress while they were on the bike. Puig didn't seem surprised when I made a warranty claim. They gave me the impression that it was an issue specifically with the plain clear screens, not the smoked ones. Both of mine were clear.
