Crash Cage for Busa

So after a couple weeks of appreciating the pure beauty of the bike I want to protect it to the fullest incase of that dreaded tip or drop. I understand that they do make a "crash cage" for the Hayabusa. Do you think it would look rediculous? Has anyone had expirience with these? I just would love to have that added assurence you know.

What are your thoughts on this mod???

Yep, a cage will definately put you into the "Squid" group in most peoples mind. And a cage may become a leg breaker in case of a serious crash. However, on the other side, if you tip it over in the garage or the parking lot at sears, a cage will definately save your lower side fairing.

caged busa......not mine

check out Powers Stuntworx

I have race rails, from power stuntworx...

I dont think they are "squidish" and you barely notice them unless your up on the bike...plus, ive been down before with nothing for protection (bike wise that is) and never again. I dont have money to blow and fairings are VERY expensive, let alone paint.

I have better pictures at home on my own computer..PM me if you want to see more.

I would go with the race rails. In my eyes they will offer better protection if you end up having a meeting with the asphalt.

But than you would have to compromise the aerodynamics for the busa.If its only for a city ride sure go for it,but it looks ugly to me:whistle:

Take a look at the B&G sliders...mine go on next week. They are not round like most sliders they are more eliptical (long day can't spell)and stout. The one thing you should consider with a cage...yes it will protect your fairings a little better...but the other edge of the sword is that they may induce you to slide even further. Whereas a good quality (stout) slider will dig in as the delrin shreds...some sliders don't have to have the frame cut...but the B&G require cutting...

Anybody know where you can get Powers Stuntworx Race Rails? I'm not sure they are still making them.....

Had the "905" race rails on mine...
When you put your feet down, yer shins hit them from where they go through the center mount. I went down and they held up, until I took the fairing off and saw the one had broken at the weld where it was bolted on the front side. Sucks. Took em off and went to regular sliders. You also feel the added weight w the rails or cage... Again, sucks.
