Crome grills on the Busa

I have been installing chrome grills on my busa. I removed the left fairing, and when doing this I noticed that the lower radiator hose and the switch/sending unit at the top left of the radiator is actually protruding through the opining. Those of you that have done this mod do you have any suggestions? Should I Bend out the grills some on the left panel? Any help or war stories will be a big help.

When I did mine, the switch did not protrude through the opening, but it came close. If you bend the grills out a little, you shouldn't have any contact problems.

I slightly shaped mine to form a bubble effect similar to the way the air tubes come from the factory. I know everyone is doing this (screen mod) for cosmetic purposes but just the other day I was in traffic and felt someting smack me in the front of the ankle caught a glimpse in my mirror of a bolt flipping down the street behind me. Thankfully I had the proper gear on and it didn't injure my foot but it did first strike the lower fairing screen on the right side. I hate to think of the damage done with it slamming around inside of the fairing then possibly dropping out the bottom and ending up in my rear tire. So keep in mind we dress ourselves for the crash not the ride but do we do all we can to protect the beloved Busa? Fairing screens do more than add a little bling bling! I'm glad you all suggested this mod.

The grills look a lot nicer if you shape them to protude slightly outward of the fairing. Putting the in flat just doesn't look quite as good.

I think the Busa looks a lot nicer with the crome grills. I plan to do mine sometime in the near future.

no problem putting mine on just make sure you bubble it out. that way it will clear the hose and sensor, also look better

Here are some Oil Cooler covers that can be chromed. You can order polished or unfinished -
