Cruise control picture on a hayabusa

It depends on how weak your wrists are I suppose...........
Bulldog, You obviously have never used a cruise control of this type before if you think you can't overcome it's slight friction in a panic situation.
You'd rather carry around a little bent piece of metal, taking it out of your pocket each time you need it and hoping you don't drop it or crash your cycle when trying to use it?
To each their own!

I don't like those clamp style cruise controls..

In a panic situation you have to release it before you can release the throttle...
I like Sherm's design better, cheaper to!. A simple piece of bent dowl, that only creates a little friction that can be overcome with a reverse twist of the throttle..

my .02 cents..

BullDog,

The clamp styles I've used are just friction, and can easily be overcome. You don't have to turn it off to release the throttle. If it's properly adjusted, that is.

the friction is very small, heck if you look at it too long it will slip back unless you adjust it too tight. Plus if your hand happens to be on the grip when you need to stop your thum will be right under the release and it is very natural to barely move your thumb up to release it. I would say you would hit it anyway going for a handfull of brake. I know it is way safer than riding down the road holding the throttle with my left hand as I used to hve to do.

I can't believe you went and bought a device that your bike already has every busa comes with cruise control.
I just can't tell you how to use it.
Suzuki would have a fit.

JC,
My fast idle cruise control is only good for about 45mph. Should I be able to adjust for about 60mph? It's about all I use mine for as there does not seem to be a cold weather idle problem. Jack

Lyle, unloaded engine rpms will always be higher than underway (engine loaded). Try 1/4 throttle in neutral and you'll hit the rev limiter; try it in 6th any you won't get past 6K. I'll try the trick next time on the freeway and see how it works. Hell, I only need it a few moments to get the blood flowing to my hand.

I use the Vist Cruse type of throttle lock and love it. On the interstate I can set up and just fold my arms, pick my nose or what ever I need to do. I even sat on the passanger seat for a while. Now I know what it would be like to be 8 feet tall. The Busa is dead stable. You can hit holes, ruts all kinds of stuff with no hands and the Busa never wags it's head. By the way we dont always have bumper to bumper traffic here like in Cal.

The fast idle lever will open the throttle from 1100 to 3500 rpm assuming it's adjusted correctly. In 6th gear, 3500 rpm is about right. It's reassonably fast to disable too.
