Cutting back on riding...

Oh...where's that pic at? Oh yea - here

I have about three people I will ride with. Two are in their later 50's, one is in his mid twenties, and I am 41. We know what the others expect. Do we ride fast? Occasionally, but no stupid crap that draws attention when you don't need it.

I don't ride with yahoos. I have more fun riding my busa with my 2 novice rider friends on the harleys. I've been riding a long time and honestly I'm not interested in attracting attention or a disaster.

I have a few friends with sport bikes I ride with but for the most part around here they are squids too. Usually I try to find a new rider, they are great to ride with and I like to help them be safe. That usually works for a couple months till they become squidish and join in the squid groups. My regulars are actually cruisers, however, these guys don't mind hanging it in a corner. :beerchug:

I haven't found anyone to ride with yet. I like ridin alone I guess. Don't have to babysit anyone or deal with different schedules. I get out at odd times so ridin alone works for me:thumbsup:

i havent had many good group rides, very picky about who i go out with.. im 25 but i prefer the older more mature riding crowd, or by myself

hey man there is a couple of us in Asheville
you are more than welcome to ride with us
hit me up

Oh, and who rides that RATTLING PASTA MACHINE down on the end? :poke:

J/K Randy :beerchug:

I was waiting on someone to 'out' me! Yep, he is running with a bad crowd with us too eh?:beerchug:

Honestly, I am all about safety, as much law adherence as we can muster and just having fun on the back roads. We try really hard to keep it clean, keep it fun and not run off and leave anyone - the pace is set by the slowest rider. We are kinda new at running group rides in our little local 'message board group' and we are still learning how to do it right (lots of reading and taking former experiences to the streets) but I think we are on the right track.

Glad ya had fun Wayne-O!!!

Glad you had a good day Wayne. Who says Busa's can't turn?

Here's another pic from the ride.

usually ride by myself. the one time i went with buddy to meet up with his "crew" was a freaking disaster. there were about 30 of them. they ran like all he** from stoplight to stoplight. did wheelies on the interstate and if the front bike went throught a "yellow" light they all ran it.
got left a few times and my buddy had to keep stoping and waiting on me. finally i told him i wasnt going to ride like that and to just go on and i would meet them downtown.
a couple weeks later one of them went down on the interstate and made two others crash also. not why i ride.
im not mr. perfect rider, obey every law but i dont look for accidents either

Thanks man, I wish I could, maybe next year. Besides, if I see an empty stretch of road with no on coming traffic or bikes in front of me...my front wheel tends to lift:whistle: I just can't help it. I doubt most of the org would approve. I assure you though I'm no squid, as I ride in deserted places and ways that only endanger myself...and my riding buddies:poke::laugh:
But seriously, you VA, MD guys should come hit the parkway with me/us in a couple of months. There's alot of good empty backroads too. I'm about 3 1/2 hrs south of DC down 29.

i'd def be down for a ride man. i don't do the wheelies, but i don't mind watching:thumbsup:

I think you forgot the pic :poke:

Same boat. I ride with all cruisers, all the "street bikes" are young sex driven egomaniacs with nothing to loose. My wife would pissed if I called from the big house or the hospital

I was reading this thread about riding safe, and then I saw your name and bike...I got a good laugh out of it! I'm glad you figured them out:beerchug:

You don't do minnie first gear power wheelies? I don't wheelie either, but I don't mind it if the front end sits up a tad when you open her up in first.  (Does that even count).
