whats up every one..i just got my new 09 and was setting up the dash and wanted to know is there an adjustment for the lights?? i did the shift light but dident see anything about the main dash lights..thanks for any help..

I'de like to be able to adjust them too. I'm going to email ScottsBlueGuages and ask if that's a function that they could add, and if so how much.

That would be nice if thye could do that cause sometimes i would like to be able to play with the brightness on mine too. haha :poke:

I emailed Bluegauges and Scott himself responded...yes tonight! He's looking into it and said he may be able to make something work, and he'll let me know. I'll let you know what he says. I already had them do my gauges blue last year. Myself and everyone here who's used them will tell you that their work is excellent and very fast.

all you would need is a variable resistor module (the device you would move back and forth to dim) and interrupt the power for the LEDs which is easy. Its the pin farthest to the right on the first row...

MC Mustang has one on his bike. Yet again I refer to him  he just has it all

Yes, and that's cool if that's how I end up getting it done, by a remote mounted knob(I've been wanting this done for a while now too). I asked if there was any way to use the 2 buttons on the gen2 dash for it. That's what he's looking into also.

Should be easy. Dim module and a remote.. just interrupt that wire.. Which two buttons are you referring to? The clock and odo buttons? Or other buttons not on the gauge cluster

Yeah, those two, on the cluster.

Yeah, those two, on the cluster.

If you wired them for dimming you would never be able to use your clock or switch trips again unless you reversed it. Its possible but would take a good bit of work. You could use any dimmer. You would just have to open up the dimmer you bought and solder some wires and run them into the gauge cluster to those buttons. Definitely some work lol. And also taking those buttons out of their current circuit...

Yeah, adding a function to them is the question. I can read wiring diagrams/blueprints, solder, and have done alot of electrical assembly. But beings as I'm red/green colorblind:laugh:, it makes things a little more time consuming and sometimes frustrating:laugh: Anymore I just like to ask and let someone else do these things:beerchug:

Adding the function to them wouldn't be hard because you would just destroy the runs that go to the switches then simply solder your new wires to them. Only problem would be if the gauge cluster board is multilayered and those runs for the buttons happen to be internal.... I dont recall the board being multilayered though. I will look tomorrow as i install my new gauge faces...

And it could be reversible which is good. Just simply solder bridge the runs back together...
