No, im not buying a R1 engine, so dont say it :p

Building a Gen 1 turbo engine, how ever I need to get it to 2.0lt or under (1.7x engine cc due to forced induction)

So, my question is, what would be the best, safest way to go about bringing the engine down from 2206cc to 2000cc?

I tried the search function, only came up with stroked discussions which was interesting, but not helpful, so I thought I would ask.

a few things to think about are rod lengths, and do wossner make the correct ones,

piston to valve clearance, running standard lift for now so shouldnt matter?

can you offset grind a stock gen 1 crank and still buy shells for it, or will I need to buy a different one?

what spacer plate should I use? still the 0.80 spacer plate from frank?

thankyou for taking the time to read this post, I look forward to hearing from you!

Cheers, Josh from Tassie

Josh there are several landspeed guys that are or have run destroked busas , usually 1000cc (1700 for you)
quite successfully , hopefully they will comment as i do not know enough about the details to help much

there is also a guy in QLD who destrokes busas for mini sprint cars
i could probably dig up his number if you needed
i believe he uses arrow cranks from the UK

Hey ozbooster, long time no talk!

I would like to get hold of this guy in qld, he might have some good suggestions.

Hopefully I can just offset grind the big ends, arrow cranks are expensive.

Oh and do you know what cc the dish is in the Wossner pistons? Need to work out how much to take off the top of the piston to get the compression down.
