Not sure if this is the right place to post this and i'm pretty sure it's not. But i need some help...
I'm sitting on an '02 with about 30K miles, and i want it to be faster. All i have right now is the power commander (PC3 i think), -1 +2 sprockets, and small air box mod. I am looking for 210 - 220rwhp that is EXTREMELY reliable! Wondering if i should purchase a lower mile motor to start with or just build up my own. Once or twice a month me and a few of my friends (busas and 14s) do 130-170mph:whistle: for about 2 hours and i need something that will make the ride.
If anyone could give me a basic breakdown of what i need i would appreciate it very much:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
Thanks alot guys

i would just go with a turbo stage one, you can use stock injectors and reliable power in the range that ur looking for

I would have the motor either built or gone threw to make sure it can handle the power and slap a turbo setup on it. Where do you guys ride that you can go that fast for that long of a period?

Yeah that's what I'm hearing...
And we are in El Paso Texas, it's a two lane, fairly newly paved farm road that is completely unpatrolled by law enforcement (except border patrol). It's right next to the border (about 1/4mile away) and except for a few turns that you can easily see from a 1/2 mile away, it's pretty straight:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks like tires may be your first order of business?

If high performance riding is your gig, you may want to upgrade from those shinkos? :dunno:

If that rear tire pops at tripple digits you'll be buying a new pair of tennis shoes! :beerchug:

I'd suggest to invest your $$ in a Gen II with an additional 25 ponies. Bone stock you'll hang with all your buddies and have all the latest technology with extreme reliability along with Suzuki's warranty!

AND,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you'll get a brand new set of Brigdestone's best street tires "BTO16's"! :beerchug:

 At first i was like "HOW DOES THIS GUY KNOW WHAT KINDA TIRES I'M ROLLIN??"
Yeah i was lookin at the new Busas, but with high miles, even though it's paid for, i think my trade in would be crap, and plus, i have horible credit. Maybe next year... but until then, "i wanna go fast!!!"

Why would you avoid bridgestones?

The point I'm making is: The OP will spend almost as much cash to freshen up a 30K mile motor and install a turbo as it would take to upgrade to a Gen II. with additional HP and max. reliability!

Don't waste your money on a bike that old. You will spend 5G's at a minimun to make that old girl go fast and you will never recoup your money. Save your cash and ride the arse off that fat chick until you can upgrade (Put some tires on that heifer first). If you have cash in hand you can buy a used Gen II pretty cheap. You'll find the Gen II leaps and bounds ahead of your Gen I.

On the bridgestones... with as much as i ride, i was going through a rear tire every 1.5 months. these 009s give me 2.5-3.
And i was thinking about your advice and running some math in my head, and i think i could make a new Busa work. But i still want to get advise on this bike incase i decide not too??? Thanks alot bro... I'm actually going to head over to the dealer whenever i take off for lunch. Didnt bring my bike to work so i don't have my helmet to test ride, but i'll still take a look!

Bridgestone are great tires......anyways....i would upgrade to a gen II, just sit it out and wait....run the crap out of your gen 1 unitl then...there no trophy at the end of that road I can assure you that so if your just trying to keep up, you sure will, Gen 1 is not that much drastically slower at those speeds....specially on a public road....ohhhh
and.....if theyre bikes are stock.....theyre probably not doing 170 on that type of road anyways.....but if the SPEEDo makes them feel good....did I mention...
..bridgestones are great tires......

Alright man... 30k miles...I would 1st do these before going for higher HP

1) TB Sync
2) Dyno Tune
3) R1 Throttle Tube
4) Full Synthetic Oil
5) SeaFoam
6) 4-2-1 Header and Can (Brock's)

If you're doing 170mph runs, you might wanna get a diff sprocket setup... like a 17/42 or 43
You're loosing alot of top end w/ your current setup.

...Also, ditch the rubber brake lines and get Steelbraided w/ some EBC HH Pads.

Makes a lot of sense when you can pick up a bone stock 08 with low miles for $7500.

+1 on the gearing. The 17-42 has some snap down low and stil pull's like ceaz'y top end. Exhaust would be good too. My 04 has 34k on it and show's no sing's of eng. problem's.
