just did the marble mod and can't believe how good it works. took a whole 5 minutes to do it. spent more time going to Wally world to get the marbles lol. i used a little bit of dawn soap to make it easier for the marble to slide in and bam.....no more gargling when i let off the throttle or downshift...coolest thing since sliced bread.... thanks :cheerleader:

What exactly is the pair valve and what does it do?
Its there for a reason and if you put a marble in the hose, it just does not seem right.

Will it harm the bike in any way?

Who ever came up with the marble mod anyway?

Make sure you pay attention to the location for a Gen I or a Gen II, they are not the same.

I've done mine but, when I let off the throttle, it doesn't sound too smooth. I haven't gotten a chance to tune it yet so I don't know if this has anything to do with it. I used this little plastic/rubber cap that came with the brocks system and I'm pretty sure I put it in the right spot. The noise is not a popping noise or anything but, its like a curvy sound and not smooth. Not really sure how to explain it

maybe the experts can come in and explain.....but no complaints so far, going on a 6 hour ride tomorrow riding the Maryland, Virginia coast line...i'll let you know how it holds up:thumbsup:

You put the cap on the air box? What about the tube that feed air to the pair air valve? Or did you install plates and remove the pair valve system?

BPP-S1308-CAP is used to block off emissions (PAIR) to help prevent ‘deceleration pop’ and also prevents ram-air pressure loss from the airbox after blocking the PAIR.
1.
Lift and prop gas tank.
2.
Remove PAIR hose from air box port.
3.
Place BPP-S1308-CAP on port of air box.
4.
Reinstall hose over plugged port.

If this is what you have done, then a custom tune is probably what you need.

For those wondering, you only need to do the marble mod if you've added slip-on or full exhaust systems....you don't do it to a stock bike

I tried this mod on my stock 08 with R-77 slip-ons and undid it probably 10-15miles later. IMO the amount of "popping" it reduced was minimal, and it seemed as though low speed fueling/throttle response was not as smooth. The bike also had a rotten egg smell from the exhaust that was quite noticable when stopped. Now if you have a full system this mod should be beneficial, but I would NOT block the PAIR if you have the stock header/cats still on.

i just removed the whole pair valve system. its not that hard and it just gets rid of the whole evil little pair system  you can get some blockoffs on ebay for 13 bucks shipped.

I have slippons and this removed the minimal popping i had when decellerating plus better idle

I just did the marble mod to my 08 busa, I cant believe i did not do it sooner.
5/8 furniture plastic leg tip works great. No more backfiring.

I love the .org, thanks. I have learned a lot from you guys.
