Salesman at my dealership (busa owner) said that suzuki shed a couple pounds off the bike and added like 1hp per year to the busa? is this true?

I think he was

gotta be pretty damned accrurate at the factory to only create 1 additional HP at a time...

I call BS.....

Well...if that was true...atleast I had the most HP for one year.

But....

I think the Salesman was full of POOH!

haha he didn't say exactly he just said they added around 1-2hp per year or something. I thought the busa was exactly the same from 01-07.

Is the 00-07 power limited also? I've noticed that magazines got deep into the 9's in the 1/4 with the 99/00 but after the ECU changes they get low 10s with a completely stock bike. Not to mention even with a TRE their top speeds are lower than the 99/00.....

lol i mean because the TRE eliminates the top speed limiter so they were able to get the very top speed out of the bike and it only got to like 189mph
when they did the zx-14r vs busa

I want some of what that saleman is on.... I would go and tell the sales manager that he needs to get some people in that place that know what they are talking about. 99-07 are basically the same in hp except the earlier versions were not limited like the newer models to the top speed limitations. There is a rev limiter and a 6th gear limit that keeps the speed down which is cancelled by a TRE being installed or usb computer unit that allows you to change settings.

My experience with just about all models from all manufacturers is the bike get slower and heavier till a major redo.

Sales guy at a dealer by me told me they added 100lbs to the busa this year because the front end came up too much.

Like after 8 years of building it they would all of a sudden decided this now lol

Sad thing is that at most dealerships, the salespeople know absolutely nothing about the bikes they sell. I had a local salesman tell me once that there is a tool in the on-board toolkit that removes the front wheel... when we all know that the toolkits DO NOT come with this tool, which is one of my gripes against Suzuki. Why would you not have all tools needed to do basic service on your bike?

Another sad things is that a lot of people purchase the Busa don't even realize this until they really need it.

Hmm 1-2hp more and weighs a little less with each new year. He wasn't trying to persuade you to by a newer year over another or anything was he?

Do yourself a favor and write down any questions you might think you have for this salesman when you're talking to him. Then come back here and ask those questions.
