Diesel Busa

Hi Guys

Please help!!!

On my 99 Busa the cam chain tensioner recently broke and caused all sorts of shite.....

Bike is now repaired - changed valves, cam chain, cam chain tensioner etcetera......

Problem - It now makes a VERY ANNOYING TIKTIKTIKTIK noise especially between 2000 and 5000rpm...

Took it back and they checked shims and valve clearances and everything is supposedly 100% according to specs.

Please give me your thoughts on what can cause my Pride and Joy to sound like a combination between a Ducrapi and a diesel VW.

does it soud like a valve chattering or an exhaust leak, and does it get better after the bike warms up?

Sounds like valve rather than exhaust...

Makes no difference whether hot or cold sounds the same the entire time

I know Suzi engines are noisy but this bike has 11000 miles on and has never made this shite noise before....

Rather loud tiktiktik...was convinced it was shims but they checked out ok !!!

Cam chains are not set properly

Mine is the same way.I think it is normal..after the cam chain tensioner update..

Just spoke to someone at the stealership and he reckons it is because the Busa now has the OIL feed cam chain tensioner as opposed to the old fcked one which didnt combined with the fact that they used very thin oil is making the noise ....

Suggest I change to thicker oil and that should solve the NEW tiktiktik !!!!!

After I had my cams installed the valve train got noisy, nothing terrible but more than I remember and more than a stock bike I rode the other day. When I'm in a sharp turn and my knee touches the frame you can here it (that hole put a broom stick to an engine thing I guess). I've had this noise for about 10,000 miles plus now and haven't had any problems, except that I get irritated with it.

Yeah thanks thats my thoughts exactly !!! NOt worried bout breaking or not....just IRRITATES the psssssss outa me...not used to it making that Ducati noise....

Oh well i'll change the oil and if still sounds shite - SELL IT and ride only the K5!!!!
