Ok, now that Kim is able to see what fun the DRZ400 is, she wants a dirt bike of her own. So here we go.
We are looking at a 1996 Suzuki (of course) DS80. The guy wants about $600. Sounds pretty reasonable.
Question
Does anybody have any suggestions as to a better bike.
A four stroke would be more preferred over a two stroke. Mono shock is a must, so that rules out pretty much anything pre80's. It has to have a seat height of 25-27 inches. That pretty much rules out all of the 125cc class, I'm pretty sure.
Keep in mind she is 5 feet tall and weighs "around" 100 pounds. She has no dirt bike experience and has about 3000 street miles on her Katana 600.
I want her to get something she will WANT to ride.
I guess I could....get a '85 CR500 for $400 or something, and lower it to 25". However, I doubt she would ever want to ride in the dirt again (much less kick start it).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and will probably be the deciding factor.
